Hi guys! Didn't know where to put it. Got the message that inactive members will be deleted due to security/spamming problems. I do understand that and want to say: please don't delete me! I haven't been here for a while, but I'm still interested in the conversation here! See you next time! Turner ;D

Hey Turner!
Dont worry, you have not been deleted.
I went through the membership database and deleted those who never posted, who've been here for several years. ProBoards sent all moderators a message stating that we need to protect against viruses, spamming and criminal hacking. A good way to do this is to eliminate those memberships from those who never post and may be here to "lurk" and hack into email.
I deleted about 50 members, 99% who had never posted before, and one who came on and spammed two weeks ago.

Apparently there is a serial hacker that is hitting some of the reenacting proboards (reenactors have a tendancy to use easy passwords/passcodes). Once we've cleared the lurkers from our board, we made a decision that all new members MUST post in order to remain on the board, fulfilling our objective of maintaining a hack-free site.

I got deleted ....but I got back on with the same name. I guess I better get posting. I have a strong interest in French Indochina/Algerian wars and would enjoy reenacting that period but will take a bit a of time to get my kit together. This is a great forum w/lots of good info. Glad to be here.

Fireman,
THANKS for introducing yourself! And welcome back ... sorry to have to delete anyone, were keeping the hackers, spammers and flamers away.
Cookie posted some great reenacting pics on Algeria - so were going to start an Algeria board where forum members can post, ask questions, etc.
Welcome back!

Roger that.
The Algerian Forum is up and running. I sent an email to everyone to let them know.
Cookie, you have been summarily (once more) pushed into the breach to co-moderate (rather, in your case, MODERATE) this board if you would be so kind.
If you guys want other categories created, let me know and I will put them up. Just ask.

Hi all Sorry for the absence and thank you for the email. The season of shows is approaching fast and all FARG members are looking forward to pulling on our M47's and getting back to enjoying the summer representing the post war French. We have expanded a little but are still a relatively small group. Anyone who would like to join us at any of the shows we are at , please just come along and make yourself known. As Cookie has said, so far we have concentrated on a conscript Algeria representation for the reasons I have previously stated but our intention is to cover everything for around 25 or so years from 1945. I think this year there will be a stronger Indochine influence from some members. Though at the same time it is looking very likely the AML 60 will be present, the engine and all other parts needed for it to work have been sorted out and I can say it is looking good. I think it's just internal cosmetics left. If you haven't already please have a look at the diary page at www.willyshotchkissjeeps.com and you will see our progress over the last few years. If you are interested in joining the website has an email you can contact. Please do, our aim is to stamp the French firmly onto the Uk scene. ps If anyone has a wood handguard for an M1 carbine ?

Thanks, I am one of those lurkers. I love to suck the knowledge out of these forums. Would love to get into Indochina but I haven't seen anyone in the Carolinas doing a unit. Have never reenacted anything, but I have a serious Walter Mitty syndrome going on. Curmudgeon7 OUT
