Thierry
Welcome to our forum.
The "pull up and ammo case" lead in is just a euphemism, a forum theme ... due to the historical recreation or MILSIM (military simulation) that members on our forum take part in.
Glad to have you!
Regards, Mick

Bonjour,
je suis Michel Vieillard. J´ai 36 ans. I´m interessted the guerre en indochine since 2007, when I was inspired by watching the first 5 minutes of "We were soldiers". So my new Impression was born. And it´s really a interessting part of history. Hoover told of this forum last weekend and i am happy to get contact with many more indochine reenactors.
Vive la France !

Hi, my name is Till and I am 17 years old(pretty young, but authentic;)). I allready do WW2 Reenactment(US Army, 41st AIR, 2d AD)I am interested in a Indochina impression since I saw photos of French Soldiers using the American M1942 Camo HBT Uniform. I am just impressed by the mix of French, British and American Gear and by the fact, that everybody knows the Vietnam war while the Indochina war is on the frindges.
Best regards
Till

Well, after a year of absence I would like to report in again. According to interests and units there's nothing to add to my first report that I've quoted for all of you! À bientôt, Turner Bonjour à tout! I'm member and one of two founders of a little group here in Germany. We portray 13.DBLE from Bir Hacheim til Algerie. We are still researching / doing our homework. Up to now we attended two events as Legion and Colonial Infantry. The interests differ from Legion to Colonial and French infantry, Metropolitan and Colonial Paras. Two of us prepare also a 1940 French infantry impression. With best regards, Turner

Turner,
Welcome back! :-) We've had a number of "desertions" but plenty of new recruits!
We've let the jungle grow over the trenches. [ Cookie's BPC para's are now using it as a latrine! :-) ]

Hi, as co founder of FARG i would like to say hello to everybody with the common interest in this period of French army re-enactment. To cut a long story short we decided, after attending many military shows that the French were not being represented. So coupled with the collection of post war vehicles and gear we had at our disposal we decided to give it a go. Our initial decision to concentrate on Algeria was for a number of reasons. Firstly, no-one else seemed to be representing it and we found it particularly interesting, also a major influence was the wish to represent a period when the French had standardized a uniform rather than the immediate post war use of all allied surplus. So we decided to take the M47 as our basic dress. Added to this the leather belts, ammo pouches and suspenders, we hoped not to be confused with ww2 American representations. Another reason for steering this way was the small arms side of it , same arguement as before. However, wth all that said having got ourselves a little more established and having attended a few shows over the last couple of years we are hoping to do what we started out to do , which is represent French infantry between the years of 1945 to the early 70's. Therefore Indo China is our next obvious progression. We would love to hear from anybody interested in getting involved, we are a small, easy going group looking to expand our ranks. If you would like to have a look at our movements to date please go to our site willyshotchkissjeeps.com
Cheers
Corin

Thankyou Savoy6 We are off to the continent to pick up a Delahaye VLRD this weekend. We took one to War and Peace and Trucks and Troops last year and it attracted some interest. That one has gone but may well be replaced if all goes well . My group Co-founder is a French military enthusiast of both kit and vehicles. At some point we will be rolling out a Panhard AML60, but don't start holding your breath quite yet as parts are not easy to aquire. Again anyone who can help ,please contact us.
Thanks
Corin
