Does anyone have a Vietnamese National Army Order of Battle.
I've found bits and pieces, but have yet to see a comprehensive ORBAT for the VNA. Plenty of information about the ARVN, but rather thin on the VNA.

Much of the information on the VNA was gleaned from the following pages on the Hungarian Legion site Les Groupes Mobiles en Indochine, I.Les Groupes Mobiles en Indochine, II.Les Groupes Mobiles en Indochine, III.This, plus the only sometimes, kinda sorta reliable Wikipedia and the Osprey Men-at-Arms title are my main sources. The units listed can safely be assumed to be fully formed and operational. From what I've read, there were still many that were in the process of working up when the French left. Others may have only existed on paper. As for the sparseness of information, I suspect that it has a lot to do with local politics. The governments of Laos and Cambodia had their own insurgencies to deal with, but were generally successful in keeping them in check. They were also more closely aligned with the French even after DBP. As for Vietnam, the North memory holed everything as soon as they . In the South, the Diem government began ditching French influence after the declaration of the Republic and the increase in American influence. As for the French, if there are any French accounts of the VNA, they haven't become widely known.
