Hi everyone, new to the forum. I was wondering who makes the best quality 47/52 camo Paratroop uniform. Thank you. Rob

Mine are panzerfaust44 made. They're good, although I'm not sure if he's still making them. While I haven't seen them, reliable sources tell me that What Price Glory's 47/52s are of good quality. I haven't really heard what's available from other sources.

I moved this thread to uniformity. I thought that it was a better fit here.

The ones I had were from Sportsman's Guide, although I don't know who made them. They're no longer available from them anyway. I thought the workmanship were as good as originals and I did have an original jacket for comparison. I also have two pair of original pants, too. The reproduction ones had a slightly lighter weight fabric, I believe. On the other hand, I think the snap fasteners on the pockets are better on the reproductions, although the originals would be at least fifty years old. The zippers were iffy on all of them. I've never seen an original unissued camouflage jacket, although I did see an unissued non-camouflaged jump jacket. Either way, they're probably the most interesting design ever in military uniforms.

I'm partial to the ones Panzerfaust and I arranged, but he's probably been reeducated by the CCP as I haven't seen him active in awhile. I've seen detailed pictures of WPG's and I would rate them as slightly below in terms of pattern and quality. Either will work fine. I've handled a couple original pieces and the fabric weight varied greatly. I would chalk up the variations to different manufacturers rather than a summer and winter weight.

Variations in the fabric probably also applies to the olive green M47 combat suit, too, although La Tranchee actually lists one (original) with a lighter fabric. They also state that the color will vary from green to brown. I think the reproductions of the camo uniforms are probably in a slightly brighter colors.

One thing about WPG. I have a set and they are well made. Very heavy material. The trousers are very true to size natural waist. If you like extra room definitely go al least a size over. Measure around the belly button. They come with suspenders.

I have five TTA 47-52 jackets (one I gave to my brother) and three trousers. Of the jackets, there are three weights of fabric, two weaves- twill and a couple in herringbone- and two colors- olive drab and dark brown/green. The trousers have two weights, but are all the same color- OD- and weave- twill. These are not the allégé types. That's quite a bit of variation in just a small sample size.
