I have an American knife and a couple of scabbards. My question is: Are these of the correct time period? One scabbard is stamped US M8A1 with PWH underneath. The other is stamped USM8 with BMCO underneath. The blade of the knife is stamped US M3 CAMILLUS.

Yes, the M3 and either M8 scabbard is appropriate for Indo/Algerie.

I've had these for 30 years or so but didn't know where they were stored. Just found them today.

Nice. Give the handles a good greasing with a leather dressing- Pecard's is my preference- and let them soak a good long while.

My preference is Obenauf's. Some swear by Hubbard's. Just use a good quality leather dressing.

An original M8 scabbard, which has a shorter web loop and no M1910 hook, is actually pretty scarce as most had the hook added later.
