I'm looking to get some input on the subject of ration boxes that may have been found amidst the plethora of equipment found with the typical colonial infantry unit. Two websites, Kraut Gear, and Frontline Crate Co., offer some really nice repro ration crates of American and British forces circa WWII. I think they might be a great way to haul gear into a camp and still be more presentable to the ubiquitous modern plastic totes that really detract from a campsite and cannot be used for ad hoc furniture found in the field. Any thoughts and documentable photos would be most appreciated, my learned friends,
Highest Regards,

I don't have any photos, but I wouldn't have a problem with those bein' used. As you noted, much better than plastic totes.
