Bonjour group!
I am new to the forums, although I have been an observer for a while (wanted to wait till I had a semi respectable kit together first). I am also a WWII reeanctor and and avid airsofter.
I am on the hunt for any schematics, diagrams, or measurements with regard to a MAT-49. I have a pal with a machine shop willing to help me on the project provided I can supply him with some dimensions to go on.
I know this isn't an Airsoft forum but I cant exactly bring my Mas-36 to the local airsoft field. lolz.
Merci en advance to anyone who can help!

I have a French magazine special issue about the MAT Mle. 49 coming in soon. I'll flip through it and see if I can find anything useful.
What impression are you going for and what gear do you have?
Cheers!

Exactement, Lew.
Like I said in the original post, I've got a very capable pal with a machine shop who is willing to build it for me at cost. That's why I've been scouring the internet for any sort of measurements/dimensions etc to go on rather crossing my fingers and hopping for the best.

yeah...there is one guy in japan that possibly has actually done it with what looks like AEP internals...i'm pretty sure from the Vz61 Skorpion..the body looks almost manufactured though. could be some type of model gun they may sell over there....though i'm still looking at the mags to figure where they are from... youtu.be/QaA2hR6kE3Y

Did anyone ever turn up diagrams or measurements for this? Parts kits seem super difficult to find.

Expect to pay over a grand for a kit if you can find one. Good luck with locating anyone who has experience converting them to closed-bolt semi-auto operation, too.

Gotcha. Still, good luck. Heck, with the way 3D printing is advancing, maybe you could go that route.

There is a place nearby that will teach / help with one off's and prototypes. 3D printing, etc. Thought I might look into it.

Hi, I ve got one MAT49 rewelded into the airsoft - is there still an interest for the measurements? 3d print could help but I wouldnt expect any miracles... I use it only for technological samples and dummy grenade bodies... Saigon - is there a possibility to get a MAS38 trigger group? or stock? this would interest me (even demilled) Jakub

You're not missing much since there is nothing technical mentioned in that weapons guild post. One member says PMs the other member the information to build the pistol. There were some diagrams available elsewhere as well. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of armourer's information available in either English, or French, on the web. You can find parts diagrams, but they don't have dimensions and the other engineering info. Relics UK sells a MAT-49 copy made of wood. I bought an early one which did not have the folding magazine well and magazine. So, I can't say how good the more recent versions are. The one I have is more than acceptable for display: maybe also a film prop. Not sure I would use it for reenacting though. www.relics.org.uk/mat-49-smg-french-sub-machine-gun-wood-replicaYou are out of luck getting a deact outside of Europe. Also, Parts are getting hard to buy internationally. Apex gun parts is your best source in the US. www.apexgunparts.com/machine-guns/sub-machine-guns/more/mat-49.htmlThe Magazine "Gazette des Armes HS No. 16 Les PM Français et le MAT 49" is available online. Try eBay or Amazon.fr, or just a search for it. Shipping to the US can be pricy though. It's frustrating trying to find a display version of this weapon, but I hope I was helpful.

Naturabuy.fr sells MAT49 parts, but it is illegal to ship overseas (sorry).
Apex has parts which could be put together for a display gun, but most of the insides are hard to come by.

I'm located in Europe, so if I would buy a EU spec deac MAT49 in France I can have it shipped to me w/o problem.... in theory.
