Hi the FIW forum friends! Just a question for you, the forum experts: Have you seen photos of the MAS 36 CR "1st type" in use the indochine war? I refer to the last stages of the war.... This is a good link for the 2 models of this rifle. The photos are of 2nd type (post WW2), the model i think most correct for DBP....¿? Thanks in advance, amigos!

Mmmm... Tough to say off the top of my head. I'll have to study some photos to see what they reveal.

Since about 90% of Mle. 36 production was of the later, post-War (1946, I do believe) type with the hooded front sight, I would tend to think CR39 production followed suit.

Thanks Craigtx and Lew!!! IMHO mostly are 2nd type, as photos shown Just curious if anybody remember any photo of a 1st type in use in indochine, because some reenactors use them. Thanks again!

Thanks Luigi!
And yes, that last photo does look like a Type 1.

Gracias. Maybe we can all be free one day.
They both could be Type 1 front sight ears, but the one to the left looks more like a Type 2.
