Hello all!
Who makes the best repros of these currently? I don't think the Chinese co. (barrylyndon?) makes them anymore.
Any help and/or advice would be appreciated!
Best regards! Bill K.

I have a blouse mady by Silverman´s in the UK. Very good colour, but they don´t run trousers.
The What Price Glory windproofs are okay for the price, too.
The panzerfaust43 ones (sold at ebay) are good from colour, but they have too much polyester, so they are shining a bit.

Like everything... Get originals. Original Brit camouflage windproof trousers are always cropping up on ebay and at militaria shows. My collection now includes two pairs of originals, one WPG repro and one Panzerfaust repro. I would say that the best repros available are from WPG, but they have their faults and I think run in short cycles. The WPG ones have good material and colours and are usually nice and baggy. However, they are fitted with bright white waist cords, which the originals had brown or OD. After a coulpe of washes to take the newness out of them they are excellent substitutes for originals. The Panzerfaust ones, as Hoover correctly states, are too synthetic. The colours have the right tone and have the right amount of 'pink' in them but the shiny quality of the material lets them down. The Silvermans smocks are good but the material is too hevy for windproofs. The colours though are good. And again, no trousers.

[/quote Cookie - Just picked up a pair of Panzerfaust repro trousers for cheap - I have heard once they are washed a few times they look much better? Is that true? Again, I would buy a set of WPG's but he is out of stock and you never know when he will be getting more in. As far as originals, I have no problem with that IF I could find my size, which is a 46 jacket, 36 waist. However, I currently see two pairs of trousers on ebay Fr. and they are both up over 300 Euros, so even though I might buy a pair for my collection there is no way I'd wear something that expensive in the field - photo session perhaps, active tactical no way. Haven't seen any original jackets for sale, but my guess is they'd go for the same high price. Again, ok for collection not so good for running around in the woods! Thanks for all the comments, I really appreciate it = Happy Holidays to all!! Best, Bill K.

Bill,
Yeah, a couple of washes and the Pzfaust ones look ok. They still 'rustle' when you move in them but they look fine and are cheap enough to trash without any great concern. Originals can be had for as little as £60 here in the UK, jackets are where the real expense is, usually about £350 a go. Of note is that you say you wouldn't find original trousers in your sizes, but they were oversized anyway as they were meant to fit over your battle dress. I have a size 2 and size 3 and both have a very big waist, well in excess of 36''.
Merry Christmas, Joyaux Noel!

I'll check ebay UK, a recent auction on ebay.Fr. had both the trousers and jacket at over 300 Euros - don't know what the final price was. The main reason for wanting a set of repros, particularly the smock, is that I want to modify it to a zip front, as many paras did in FICW - hate to cut up and original jacket! Good advice on the sizing, I'll keep that in mind. I guess I'll keep checking ebay UK. When I get my Panzerfaust repros I'll plan on washing the heck out of them. Merry Christmas to you as well!! Best, Bill K.
