Attached (I hope) is a picture from Thompson's book on Elite Units around the world. My friend and French collector, Joe Gervasi, posed for this drawing for Leroy Thompson. Joe is a well known authority on French Airborne and commando units from WW2 on. He has even met Bigeard!

Can you post the title of the Thompson book? I remember him doing a specific title that had color plates of the French, but can't remember the name of it.
Thanks cavalryscout!

Uniforms of the Indo-China and Vietnam Wars By Leroy Thompson. Joe Gervasi's portrayal of a GCMA is on page 11. See the plate of insignia on page 19. That's what got me started in collecting French stuff. I should have stayed with US Cavalry insignia and uniforms. Would have been cheaper by far!

That's the one. Paid $17.95 for my copy over 20 years ago. Thompson (the owner of Cold Steel Knife Co) did the text and the others did the drawings and photos. Leroy is good but it outs one off a bit when he tries to convince you that USAF security police are an "elite unit" and list them with the USSF, Rangers, SAS, etc!
