... and the 56th Anniversary of the Fall of Dien Bien Phu, this year.
3e BCCP Historical Reenactment Unit will be taking part in events in Houston, Texas commemorating the fall of the capital city of Saigon (April 30, 1975) with ARVN veterans. We will also be commemorating (for the first time) the 56th Anniversary of the end of the French garrison at Dien Bien Phu. We are anticipating honoring the French forces at DBP with a wreath laying ceremony at the French Consul General (CG) Office in Houston, Texas, and later a similar ceremony at the Vietnam War Memorial, Bellaire Blvd, Houston, Texas in "Little Saigon" to honor the thousands of Vietnamese soldiers who died at Dien Bien Phu in 1954.
We beleive that 2010 is the year to give back: all members will be participating in various memorial services and commemorations.
We will post photos of our events on our website.

To the fallen of Dien Bien Phu - Lest We Forget
" They went with songs to the battle, they were young. Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. "
