What a beautiful piece!! But I think it will be very expensive. The last CR39 in France (in an auction, mint condition and a life firer) was sold for € 7.300!!!!

I was under the impression that just about all of them were made up from parts anyway. That is started out life as a regular MAS 36..... fmf, I can't get the link to work to the gunboards forum....

There are some marked CR 39 , there was one on sale last mounth that was marked CR 39 then rebuilt and remarked MAS 36 with a wood stock , there is a lot of discussion on the Gunboards about this under French Firearms , even built from parts I think this one would be a good buy , years ago SARCO had CR 39 stocks for sale , I wish I would have bought one then , I don't know what to tell You about the link not working

Yeah, I even googled CR 39 and came up with the same link you provided, and got nothing there as well! I think you are correct on it still being a bargain. There is a lot more that would go into making up a CR 36 than just changing out the stock. All the extra "correct" modifications would certainly be worth something! As you know, the application of just the stock does not the CR 39 make! If we were smart we'd pick up several of those MAS 38 parts kits that Sarco currently has available, and build up some dummy guns!!!!! Several in our unit did that a few years ago with MAT 49 kits and made up some really nice dummys! Now those parts kits seem to have dissappeared as well. There was a fully transferable MAT 49 available about a year ago and the price was a bit over $20,000!!!!!! Renault
