We saw four photos taken about 49-50 of 3e BCCP wearing what looks to be:
-red berets -khaki shirt -khaki pants (bloused) w/ US enlisted mans khaki belt -jump boots
Questions:
1. Are these American "chino" khakis? 2. The jump boots look VERY similar to Corcoran's - I am assuming they wore the US WWII brown jump boots for walking out but I could be wrong. Would everyone have kept the US jump boots for walking out? Or would the "Rangers" (double buckles) have been used?
Many thanks gents.

Shirt & Trousers are either US chino or french modele 1948 (need to see the shirts pocket to say which model it is...) Indeed US jump boots are for walking out mainly (and US buckle boots were also used of course).

marsouin:
Merci!
I think we may make the chino's the primary item for walking out. We were caught unawares this past October when the ARVN Veterans Association invited us to a Saturday Mess Night-style dinner ... and we had nothing more than our battle uniforms!
We have some great plans for next years event!
