Correct, but silly money. Repros cost around 12 euros at the minute. I doubt if it is original for that price.

The photo you've posted from their page doesn't impress me. The colour and the stitched reinforcing lines don't seem quite right, but this one, for $19.99 looks ok:300511170426. Same dealer.

that's actually one of the banana republic copies,.....they made a good repop of the CdB but they are impossible to find in "normal" sizes....the one listed is a S which means around a size 6 3/4....lol.. i got the hat yesterday...you are right the stitching and material aren't as heavy as the period ones i've seen....but it's better than nothing...guess i'll just have to try one from the ebay.fr. guy.....

Dunk the crown in warm water and mold it so it has that 'veteran' worn in look. I molded the crown on mine and then used clothes pegs to hold it in place . I then left it to dry. You can also do it with the brim, so it sags at the front. Rub a bit of dirt in and you're done.

Bonsoir:
I just received a Bush Hat from a guy in France in a grouping of Algerian War items. The hat was dyed Chocolate Brown. Does anyone know if that was a practice for any unit in Indochina or Algeria? Has anyone ever seen one like that before? Merci.

I've seen bush hats that were dark tan, light tan, green, camouflaged (dyed with various splotches of colours)... It wouldn't suprise me to find brown. haven't heard of any unit dying them this particular colour though.
