My contact in Hong Kong finally got back with me last night about reproducing M47's. We sent her a swatch of M47 material a month ago and after several weeks, she said she could not reproduce it due to the type and style of material we sent her for the price we wanted. We were hoping on reproducing them for about 50.00 per set; she quoted 110.00. Were trying to avoid the problem that several vendors ran into attempting to reproduce British BD and US mustard wools - using the properly weighted HBT that is free of the sheen that is common in the type and style of cotton / polyester / HBT / muslin that is on the market whcih gives military uniforms that crappy look. WWII Impressions first run of HBTs were like that. It takes about 3-5 washings in cold water to get it out...
Were contacting another vendor in here in Houston in Little Saigon to see what he can do. The price is slightly cheaper [ 75.00 ] but he may be able to reproduce the proper material, weight and color.
We'll keep everyone posted.

savoy,
I was going to have M47's manufactured out of Hong Kong back when I was in a LE unit here in the U.S. When I left that unit, I let the contact lapse. I did email my contact there and its still a possibility but the start up cash needed is too high ($500 for first order). However, I am told they can put together the pants for $10 (US) a pair, which is great. However, it has to match the original wartime manufacture look so I may try and see if they can do one for $30 (US) and go from there. At least all I will be out is thirty bucks if they send me M47 trousers in pink chaffron!

guys, there are loads of different variations in the colours of these items. It is the same with US WWII M43 jackets and trousers. Different manufacturers, at different times, used material from a variety of sources. The early, first pattern, Mle 47 trousers are a dark green colour. The 1950 pattern are a lighter Green/olive colour. The 1953 pattern are a much lighter OD colour which is more tan in colour. The 1959 pattern are a different colour again, being a olive drab. Strangely enough I have found the Mle 47 jackets, through the different variants, to be much more uniform in colour, and I have all patterns, Mle 47, Mle 47/52, Mle 47 allegee, and Mle 47/52 allegee. Of these, the Mle 47 allegee is a dark green, with all of the others being a lighter olive drab colour. I would not worry about the colour of the trousers too much, as finding a pair in an unused condition is fairly rare. A certain amount of fading is to be welcomed for a field impression.
Honestly though, is it worth reproducing these? They are very common on ebay.fr - Panzerfaust repro the mle 47 trousers and 47/52 allegee jacket in lizard camo, and the 47/52 jacket in Olive, but they say it is not worth reproducing the trousers.
