I went through that phase: two South African R1's for me, one for my brother. He still has his. They were fun as hell, but I like the 49/56 just as well and it had the historical tie-in going for it. I also made a nice profit on both.

My FAL will mainly be part Imbel and part R1. FAL's have gone up in price a lot (as have most historic military rifles); I shoulda got one a long time ago! And the same goes for a 49/56!

49/56's have been hovering around $500 at least since the time I bought my first in 2007. I don't see the price budging substantially any time soon (although trying to predict firearms trends can be near impossible).
I slathered one of my R1 clones with the correct paint. It felt soooooo good. Now, all my modern rifles and shotguns get paint. It's an addiction, maaaaaaaaaan.

NOTE: He now has the 47/52 Lizards in stock! Anyone have any input on these? A.k.a. are the colors right? look like the pattern appears to be correct... ---Toussant

I *just* got my panzerfaust 47/52s! They are the bomb! Well made, and fit perfectly. Well except the suspenders are too short for me, but I'm pretty tall. And they can be unbuttoned and removed so it's all good.
I think the colors are just fine. Others that have received theirs have favorably reviewed the colors.

I just noticed that Panzerfaust store is back on-line, so for people like me who missed out on the Lizard camo order, we are back in business.

I would act on it if you can. Cary has the real goods. I have a set of windproofs as well as the lizards. The windproof trousers compared very favorably to my originals.

Yep, get it while it lasts. Both my sets of lizard camos and Windproofs are outstanding. This recent batch of 47/52 lizards is actually correct for the pattern with regards to features and fabric, unlike his earlier offering where the jacket was a Mle. 47/51 pattern features in the 47/52 fabric.
