I recently picked up a light wieght 47/53 style green jacket, a 47/51 jacket and pants with button pockets and a 2nd light wieght pair of 47.51 pants. They are very light weight and do not seem very durable. Has anyone heard of uniform items like this? maybe for walking out in the tropics?
I will try to post some pics soon

You mean they are patterned on the 47/51 and 47/53 uniforms but in a plain green material? If they were original I would say they would have been made of more durable material. The men were already issued with plain green 47 tenue de saut para suits so wouldn't need to have lightweight ones made up just for parade. Replicas?

Martin Windrow mentions 'tenue de saut Mle47/51' in Dark khaki, in Osprey Elite no 6, in use prior to the 'Tenue Leopard' in Indochine, but they had press studs. Green kit in the TAP style dissappears until the 'Mle 1960 Tenue TAP' in 66/67 in Tchad. I'd agree with Cookie on this one.

The TAP Mle. 47/51, 47/53, 47/54, and 47/56 all came in both lizard camo and OD. The TAP Mle. 47 only came in OD.
