Wow. These things were made in the millions. I'm really glad I picked up mine when I did about ten years ago. Never paid more than $20 per trouser or jacket, usually way less.

It's always seemed like things on Etsy are more expensive than on eBay. But shipping from some places is really high.
Many uniform items were made in the millions, yet are scarce today. They wear out, get used up and whatnot. But it always amazes me when something totally unused and unissued (and in good condition) shows up for sale. Everything in normal sizes got used up first, of course. On the other hand, I'm not exactly the same size I was when I went in the army at age 19.

They are proud of their shipping, for sure! I think I bought my first TTA 47 for about $20 as well. That's in pristine condition. I can see the premium price on it. But the shipping, at least to my corner of the world, is a little ridiculous...

They are easy to find on the shows I go to (in The Netherlands, Belgium, UK and France), as nobody seems to care about them. Also cheap TAP webbing, usually from non-specialized vendors. Got my Bergam for €5, it was in very nice condition but missing the metal frame. I already had one with frame but dry-rotted leather, so that was an easy fix. Also ammo pouches, belts, canteens, suspenders etc

Lucky you! On this side of the pond they're few and far between, and are now commanding a premium.
