Does anyone know if the original green French TTA 47 uniforms that What Price Glory has are any good? Is there a place that reproduces these?

I have a pair of the trousers I bought years ago and they are very sturdy and fit well. All of the kit I have from WPG- French, British, Rhodesia- is well-built.
I will advise you: Be mindful when ordering from them. Both my buddy and I have had issues with mislabeled sizes, strange dimensions, and ordering issues. It was like pulling teeth trying to get a mislabeled shirt rectified. It was six inches too large in the chest. Eventually (over three months later) a refund was issued for that shirt. I still don't have the Rhodesian camo t-shirt I ordered, and I eventually said "sod it" and moved on. The problem is that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Jerry in California has little control over the operation in UAE. On top of that, add COVID panic supply and staffing woes.

The trousers they have currently are in very good condition. I bought a pair of the trousers and was very pleased with them. Sizes are limited though. I know Jerry Lee has some repros in the works. I've yet to see anything from WPG original, or repro that is of poor quality.

Ok, sounds good. Do you know anything about the jackets?

I cannot say as I have not handled one, but I would expect the quality to be no less than those of the trousers.

I am considering buying a set. Some of the things I have read on here concerning WPG have been good and some have pointed out some problems folks have had. In truth, I would prefer a spot on repro over a set that is as old as these seem to be. I am guessing something like this is in a warehouse in the middle east. In any event, thank you for the info!

Good luck with another repro, as I can't recall anyone else making a set.
If you're worried about getting it, call them and speak to Jerry and see if these are in-stock in their California shop. I believe mine shipped from there, and not UAE.

I've had no problems with things shipping from either CA, or UAE. No one else is making repros that I know of.

jerry is currently about to produce reproductions of both jackets and trousers. He just showed of pre-production photos of the jackets. If I were you I'd join the indochina reenactor group on facebook. Jerry always posts whats in development and what is about to go up on his website for sale.

Well, the jacket and pants I have from WPG are both original. The fabric is really incredibly good.
But yes, as already written. I also had some problems because of the size at WPG.
And, unfortunately, the questions are not always answered promptly. Sometimes, unfortunately, not at all.

WPG now has the M47 khaki shirts listed, too, and I'm tempted. But I already have an original. And by the way, I've seen them referred to as M47 and M48. Anyway, the shirt in the photo looks good and I expect it to have sleeves that are too short for me, too. The sleeves on those shirts and the later model have narrower sleeves than most dress shirts.
The main issue is sizing. His sizing is by chest size and that isn't how either the shirts or jackets were sized. So you have to second guess. The shirts, which presumably will go in the wash more often, will shrink. But his jackets and pants are originals. There are other sources, though. I notice that WPG's repro French khaki trousers are sold out. Sportsman's Guide, which I'm sure we all check once a day, also has sizing issues. It might help to read reviews. I might also add that it can be extremely difficult to get a fabric exactly right when reproducing clothing from 70 years ago but practically everything else is usually just about right and sometimes better.

And by the way, I've seen them referred to as M47 and M48. There are two models, with Mle. 48 only having some minor changes. I can't recall what they are at the moment, but why they needed a new model designator is beyond me. Any shirts I get from WPG I expect to have tailored. Their sizing across the board is bizarre and inconsistent.

So far, everything I'VE gotten from WPG has been good. I will say that they apparently don't use preshrunk cotton, and they theoretically cut their patterns to allow for shrinkage. In my experience, one or two hot wash / hot dry loads will both size them up and give them a more "veteran" appearance.

I have found the quality to be very good. The measurements are for the most part spot on with little room for shrinkage. I now always measure natural waist belly button not hips...as it should be but not the modern way.
