Hey guys, I picked this jacket up at a flea market and I needed some help with authenticating it so I figured joining this forum and asking here would be a good place to start I saw other examples online and the only thing about this is that it is shorter at the waist between the breast pockets and the bottom pockets which makes me think it could have been tailored. Also, it seems like there were sleeve patches and a breast badge attached to this at some point (pictures in the next post). Any information on this would be much appreciated, thank you! - Abdullah

It's not unknown for the jackets to be tailored. The stamping looks legit, although I would expect to see an Armee acceptance stamp as well as the manufacturer. The holes in the pocket flap look to be correct for the para brevet. I'd venture to say it's likely legit.

Looks good to me. Mle. 47/56 TAP jacket. The part you circled in red is where the TAP (airborne) wings would have been installed. Without any provenance, it's impossible to say who wore this an when, as these jackets were used well into the '80's.
Edit: Just checked my original TAP set. Same maker as yours, and no acceptance stamp. There is a bold "NH" stamped below the maker's mark, though. Not sure what that stands for. When I bought the set, it had papers dated from 1961 from an artillery (?) unit stationed in northeast France and/or West Germany, so it was almost certainly issued and worn. I'll have to remember where I put those.

I'm not sure, but weren't the tan painted buttons an indication of period?
