Hello, a little evocation of 3e RPC in 1955 Edough mountains where they were deployed in december 1955. Its a woodland area of ALgeria.... photos were taken on a 20km trip in windy snowy winter conditions and in the end I was kinda happy to have the sewed overjacket For the equipment tousers TTA47/54 aluminium buttons - modified (piece of elastic rubber at the end of the hose) jacket TTA47/52 allegée, modifiée (retaillée) casquette Bigeard (repro) shirt Mle47 and sweater Mle1949 boots mle 52 (separated buckles) wool gloves , camouflage scarf and woolen neck scarf belt TAP50/53, with canteen cover M51 and canteen M52. 2x m1 mag holsters - one US french modif , other one is repro (I am awaiting french made holster) Knife is M3 Utica 2 grenades DF37 - repro the bag is TAP50 1ere type - repro inside is la veste matelassée 1ere type, poncho camouflé, torch TL122 metallique; something to eat, mess kit and some underwear the bag is so small that its almost unimagineable to pack all the stuffs needed for the whole weekend.... just one whole was enough.... maybe it sould be better with TAP47/54 jacket where there is more pockets to use weapon is M1 chiappa in .22LR and below few pics and one photo of a friend in TAP47/56 with an airsoft MAS36

Its the italian fibreglass M8 - its the closest one to the original M8 I am searching for 5 M8 scabbards and since I am not willing to pay 60USD for one - its going to be a long struggle.....

I guess M8's converted to M8A1 and early M8A1's (without the metal tip) would historically be correct too? The first 'real' M8A1's still had 'M8' stamped on the throat but the hanger is longer than on a real M8.

yep, either M8 or M8a1 with metal hooks are correct (for indo as well)
so far I didnt see any M8A1 with metal tip in french usage till 1983 (when M3 virtualy dissappeared)
