They are similar to the late WWII US tropical boots (like you have repros of), but are different in a few ways and appear to be French made.

There were all sorts of custom boot shops in France that would makes anything the user wanted. I've seen pictures of Mle. 52 boot copies that are slightly different in the details- brass buckles, thinner leather, different sole- so anything is possible. I would wager that these were not theater made.
