They look good. Hoping they produce them, ideally in the correct leather, whether that's rufout suede or natural I'm sure nature being a newbie

I got a pair a few months ago. They are rough-out leather (full-grain, not suede) like the originals. Dehner Boots out of Omaha makes them. The sole is reasonably correct given what is practicable with currently available soles. The fit is right on and I wear mine once a week or so (gotta cycle through all my other shoes and boots). These boots are built very well and they look good with a couple coats of Pecard's. I have no idea if WPG plans to continue stocking these, but I'd bet against it. Maybe, with enough interest, they will. I think Craig has a pair, too.

Yes, I do. Last I heard Jerry tweaked the pattern a little and another run is in the works. I'd check the WPG eBay site frequently as they show up there first.

That's good news.

They look great in the pics, but I'm not impressed with the soles...but as Lew pointed out, it's hard to find more correct ones. Perhaps find some Mle 52's with trashed uppers and recycle the sole off of them?!?

The Mle. 52 sole is not a close match for the Mle. 50 (and certainly not for the Mle. 50/53), and I think it would be regressing to use that sole over WPG's current "close-enough" option.

Does anybody know if WPG is still planning on doing another production run of reproduction Mle 50 para boots, or was it just wishful thinking? If so does anybody have any sort of ETA? I'd really like to get my hands on a pair if possible, even if they're a bit pricey.

Yes they are. Check the eBay store. They tend to come in drips and drabs.

That gandoura is really cool. I'd love to see a copy of the issue djellaba. Mine's black, which is fine, but the issue striped one would look much cooler.

Stop liking the things that I like!
I checked shop-morocco.com and there selection was limited with regard to colors- brown, black, simple striped. Now that the daytime highs aren't in the hundreds, I really need to don my Algérie-acceptable uniform, load up my Mle. 55 pack, grab a MAS, and wander out in the bush. My djellaba will certainly keep me warm enough.

I don't subscribe to hero worship, either receiving or initiating. Get off my lawn.
