Member "keane" (Ed) is currently indisposed, but he gave me a heads-up on a couple of items. 1) 1/4" fine mesh US late-WW2 helmet nets, which are perfect for Indo para helmets: Charley's Surplus helmet nets2) They also have a limited number of center-seam M1 helmets with late-model chin straps: Charely's Surplus M1 center seam helmetOne can retrofit the straps with the correct model from J. Murray's Militaria. I've ordered three of the nets for use with my M1 helmets with repro liners- M1C, Mle 50/53, and CEFEO. I'll update this with a report when they come in. Cheers.

I got the helmet nets in. They will work just fine. They certainly smell like surplus, so let them air out a bit.

It appears Charley's doesn't want my business. Their website won't accept my e-mail address.

To be fair, I wouldn't accept your business. I can't blame them.

Unfortunately for me. A note about the nets: Some trimming will be required as there is a lot of excess that will prevent the liner from fitting properly within the helmet.

I don't think they're original US late WWII helmet nets, but a post-war Belgian or Dutch or Norwegian or Danish. Original US WWII ones (with band and tag) typically go for quite a bit on eBay these days! They used to be like $5 in surplus stores 20 years ago I have one of the Euro ones as well, and it even came with the elastic band and ties attached (just like the original US type did), but it's definitely not a US WWII one

I am in agreement, but they will fit the part.

I do WWII GI and the 90th ID are considered extremely good at research, this can be considered pretty darn reliable.
