Bienvenue sur notre forum, monseieur Ian.
Where are you located, what do you have so far, and in what units are you interested in particular?
We are happy to share our knowledge and add to it. Imparting that knowledge is the raison d'etre of this site, so do not be hesitant to ask questions (read through the site first to see if the topic has been covered first, though).
I am located in central Arizona. My unit foci are listed in my signature. Algeria is my preference, but Indo is of particular concern.
So, stick around, learn a few things, and feel free to jump in any discussion. Salut!

What Steve said... Good to see ya made it over.
I'm in Washington State and do 1e/2e BEP for Indo and 1e/2e REP for Algerie. My first interest is Indo, and Steve gave me the bug for Algerie...
Poke around and see what's here and ask all the questions ya want.
Craig

I am located in the UK
I have been re enacting German for 15 years with the SBG in the UK (i will continue to do this) i have however always been interested in the French Paratroopers and the stuff of legend from Dien Bien Phu (this comes from being an ex Paratrooper in 3 Para) but never really looked into it that much as information is scarce and mainly in French
I also have a thing for camouflage and the French in indo china utilised a lot of camo from different countries and this has fuelled my interest also, i have a fair size collection of German stuff with some bits of original Waffen SS camo and tons of the repro stuff, i also have a couple of vehicles one of which is a French made ford SAF truck that was used in indo china (the model not my exact truck as i dont know the history of mine unfortunately) these were made right at the end of WW2 and i have a german dienstvorschrift stating they were used by the Germans but until now i have been unable to find a period WW2 photo of them in use but some photos of them used in indo china so that could be an option when its restored (its nearly there!)
So i am here to learn and Read i like the idea of the 1 BEP but i dont really know enough and need to study and there is some good information and knowledge on here so i think i am in the right place

If you're into camo, I think panzerfaust1943 on eBay still has some 47/52s layin' about. True most of the info out there is in French, but to me, the photos are worth the purchase price.
I'd highly recommend The French Foreign Legion in Indochina, 1946-1956: History Uniforms Headgear Insignia Weapons Equipment by Raymond Guyader. It's in English and has a lot of information specifically on the Legion.

I have that book in English. I wish it was in French as there are some obvious translational errors, and French is really easy to read.
