I have a 1945 dated MAS36 and use it for my WW2 and FICW French Impression.
But did anyone has a pic of the Mas36/51 with grenade launcher in action in INdochina?

Hello all,
Just got my MAS 36 after a long hunt over here in the UK. Am trying to date it but have run into some difficulty the prefix letter looks more like a Gothic styled number 2? The serial number after is 89777 and I've been told the prefix could be a G code which would date it to Sept / Oct 1939.
It has the wartime ring-shaped sling retainer and covered foresight blade. The woodwork is not serial numbered.
Any ideas chaps?
Cheers Danny

Just found that the 2 is actually Q in french script so this dates the rifle to mid 1950 Danny

Probably correct! Although we'll never truly know. ...until we gat any proof... But currently I would say: No use in Indochina, too.
