Hello,
I am Kevin, from Northern Virginia. I am new to the list and checking in. I will be falling in with the Mid-Atlantic 1e BEP. Looking forward to finding out more about the FFL in Indochina. Looks like I am just a little late for the Panzerfaust-1943 Lizard camo order, but hopefully he will recover soon and has extras.

Howdy and welcome aboard. Check out some of the recent intro threads for some good information. These three books are essentially the bible of Indo/Algérie collecting/reenacting: Les Paras Français en Indochine 1945-1954 and Les Paras Français en Algérie 1954-1962 by Patrice Pavetta and Éric Adam The French Foreign Legion in Indochina 1946-1956 by Raymond Guyader If you can, hustle on out to Kansas for the Dien Bien Phu event in June. Details can be found here: link-Steve in sunny Arizona

Thanks for the info, I did pick up Guyader's book. I am hoping to get my kit together in time for the Kansas event, the 47/52-3's may be my biggest challenge.

If you can't find 47/52's (47/53's would be out of line for most units at DBP) in time, most other units wore the US "frogskin" jacket (P42, 43, and 44) with the British Windproof Trousers. 1e RCP wore all Windproof, and 8e BPChoc wore every combination of the US camo, Windproofs and were the only unit to be issued the Denison Smock en masse.
If you can come up with the proper uniform items*, you are more than welcome to fall in with my brother, buddy, and myself as the 8e Choc contingent.
*Those items listed above, plus a red three-piece beret from Doursoux.com with airborne insignia (beware of recent cast metal versions), Pataugas (asmcs.de has Sturm-Miltec) or Mle. 50 boots, and an undershirt (OD green A-shirt/wife beater/tank top or French Mle. 48 shirt). Denison Smocks and OD tank tops are available from What Price Glory and Man the Line has USMC P42 "frogskin" camo jackets and trousers. Panzerfaust1943 has Windproof garments, but he's been out of communication for a bit due to some recent hospitalization.

I think that Panzerfaust1943 also has some 47/52s in his e-bay store. Check it out...
What Prive Glory also has some OD TAP 47/52s available. But they're a limited run so I'd look quick if you're interested in those.
