I thought I'd mention the access to a French medic bag as seen in several sources thorough out this site. Omaha Militaria has one for sale under their Outdoors menu and "pouches", "first aid" button. Very nice piece I picked up from them for the collection, and a really good idea to have around for emergencies... Mine is slung over the back of my pick up seat in case an emergency situation should arise. I thought perhaps others might like this piece of kit for similar reasons. As Always, ---Toussant

The copy of the US WW2 medic bag? If so, yes, it's a nicely-made little bag. I'm not sure when they came out and pictures of them in Indo are scarce. They were definitely used in Algérie, though. Instead of period-correct contents, I have mine loaded with actual, up-to-date medical items- CAT TQ's, gauze, Israeli bandages, minor boo-boo bandages. I figure if we're running around the bush, it should actually be usable and effective should it be required.

Ditto that! Better to be safe than sorry, I always seem to get little nicks and cuts running around the bush. I took some sage advice from a paramedic friend to come up with a good list of first aid gear to help out in all kinds of minor emergencies. I took my kit up to the Boundary Waters this summer and the group was constantly using it for cuts and scrapes, but also because I carry good bug dope, ibuprofen, and industrial strength sun block. A period correct bag can hide all the modern equivalents in nice ziplock bags to keep the items waterproof and ready at a moments notice... Cheers! ---Toussant

I have so much medical equipment, I'm almost drowning in it: IFAK's, boo-boo kits, medic bags.
