Howdy, I'm Steve and my focus is on the Algerian War. Doesn't seem to be too popular, which is why I'm jumping aboard this ship, plus there's some good information here, and I'd be glad to contribute my own fairly extensive knowledge. Anyhow, my primary focus is the 11e BPC in Algeria 1955-1962. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/11e_ChocOther units of interest to me, and for which I am equipped to represent are 1e RCP and 15e RTS/75e RIMa. I am also not against doing late-war Indochina, at least if it doesn't involve adding a lot of equipment. I have four sets of uniforms, enough period weapons, and other equipment. I'm in southeast Michigan, so, if anyone's around, I'd like to see if something could be put together. If not, it'll be just myself running around the woods.;D If one were to have their own kit, in part or in full, that would be excellent. If not, bring no more than a healthy attitude (and yer own undies. I'm not providing those. ) and a willingness to learn. I'm a stickler for historical accuracy (or at least as far as we can get), but that's no reason not to chill and have fun. Cheers! P.S. Don't be surprised if I rummage through the forums and resurrect old threads with relevant knowledge or questions.

Howdy!
Good luck gettin' responses! I've been on and askin' questions since late July (IIRC) and have gotten absolutely zip in the way of responses.
But welcome any way!

What types of relevant weapons can you have in Germany?

Deactivated we are allowed to own every type of weapons.
Blank fire only semi-automatic, life firer, too. But these only with special permissions.
I have as deacts: Garand Carbine MAS 36 98k Lebel Rifle Berthier Mle 15 rifle (3 shooter) Berthier Carbine mle 16 (5 shooter) FN FAL M1919A6 MP KMS72 (DDR version of the AKMS) Enfield No. 4 Mk. I
Also we have a very large Arisoft-industrie here with a lot of guns available.
In our group we have 4 MAS36, 1 MAT49, 1 Bren, 1 M1919A6, 1 M1919A4, some Carbines, 1 M1928A1, 2 Enfields No. 4, 1 MP40, all deacts and all original. Replicas are some others. Blank firers only a few, because they are so stupid expensive here.
Next new weapons will be a FM 24/29 deact and I will try to get a 81mm mortar. Nice for Displays, and I can use it for WW2 also.

Every time I think that it's shit that we in the US can't get good deactivated weapons or certain weapons weren't imported in any quantity or at all (MAT-49, FM-24/29, AA-52), I thank the gods that what we do have is generally unmolested (maybe an import mark), fully functional, and more easily available than elsewhere. I don't think I've seen any country aside from France with a MAS-49/56. I have three of them, and, if given a week or two, I could procure a dozen more, funds permitting.
Still, that's a neat lineup Hoover, deactivated or not. At least crap firearm laws haven't stopped you, although they are a pain in the arse. Cheers!

Oh, in Germany our gun laws are not that stupid like the one in Great Britain today. ;D
