It must have been in the tea leaves ... I opened a peice of mail that had sat in my mail box several days and from an old cameraden back in Ohio (you know who you are!) I received an anonymous gift certificate for Spec's (the largest liquor distributorship in Texas) with the following script: [glow=red,2,300] "To be used only for supplying Legionnaires with the proper spirits. Vive le Legion!" [/glow] The DBLE (and attached units) will now have at lest a four-battle supply of Kronenbourg for '09! /martini/

Here's the scenario: Grog sets M. Martini on fire (it's a time-honored stunt - a real crowd pleaser - and everyone seems to love it), I'll yell fire to get the crowd shuffling towards the door, and Renault grabs the plonk under cover of smoke and stink of singed Martini. We'll meet shortly thereafter at an up-till-then undisclosed location (to everyone else, anyway) and voila! (imagine snap of fingers) - it's party time for the old guard (who, as we all know, never dies; they just smell that way). I realize it’s kinda rough at this stage but we still have a few weeks to work out the details.

Martini does a good enough job of setting himself on fire without assistance!

I realize it’s kinda rough at this stage but we still have a few weeks to work out the details You think an old NCO would leave the KRONENBOURG all alone without priming the charges to keep it for fall into the wrong hands. Chef NCOs Mess Valjean

Ok, the Kronenbourg for the weekend is now packed in the cooler! All that is left is ... ice ... and Legionnaires to share it with! I must thank our man in Ohio for his most auspicious gift of Kronenbourg .... which has now supplied reenactors at three consecutive reenactments with this most enriching, flavorful and vitamin-enriched beverage! There must be a medal we can give this man!
;D

haven't been able to find the red and white label here in atlanta....but the 1664 is really crisp and drinkable...i can see why the brand is so popular over there..seems like it goes really well with food...
