Hello, I was very happy to find this forum, and I thank the moderators for allowing me to join! I became fascinated with the French experience in Indochina when I was teenager in the late 1970's, and I found Bernard Fall's "Hell in a Very Small Place" and "Street Without Joy" in my local library. I have worn out several copies of both books over the years. I also read Windrow, Simpson, Morgan, and of course Jules Roy's accounts of DBP. I am not a French Indochina war reenactor, though I am slowly building an impression for Living History. (I am a Librarian, and organize a number of Living History events each year at my library.) I was a US Civil War reenactor for several years, but left that scene due to the general drama and nastiness. Occasionally I reenact the American Revolution, but keep a low profile for the same reason. I am most active in WWII reenacting, which I love. I am in a US leg infantry unit and we do about 4-5 tactical events annually. I love forward to participating on this forum!
Best Regards, Edward

Welcome, Edward. Many of us have made the move into reenacting this fantastic and overlooked period. Glad you're here.

Edward (and others)
If your new to this forum, there is something VERY unique about us. WE DONT FLAME. We dont question your motives or get angry when you ask a question, typical of OTHER forums that do this, but we do not. Since this forum has been in existance( and others before it) there has always been a quiet professionalism written in just under the radar screen for those who wish to ask questions about Indochina.
I've been on WWII forums for the better part of 15 years (since the invention of the internet) and new reenactors are constantly attacked for asking basic questions about the hobby, or anything else.
WELCOME.
Ask away.
You'll find like minded historians here ready to help.
Mick
