Mes amis, This weekend the SHLE here in Texas had a unit meeting (uh,,party) and scout of the February Event location property. There had been some question of the weather possibilities so I'll give you an example. Saturday, mid-morning, while out practicing movement to contact, small unit tactics, in the battle area it was 85 degrees F. Sunday morning at revielle it was a chrisp 30 F! So if you don't care for Texas weather, wait around a minute,,,, it will change..... The area of operations is extremely nice and challenging! Lots of woods, steep hills and hollows. Perfect places to hide and establish ambushes. One real main twisty, and hilly "road" thru the area. This promises to be an awesome location for the event. There will be more posted on the event sub-forum on the scenario real soon!!!! Fedi the Goumier cooked up a fine pot of gumbo for Saturday evening ( I didn't know they cooked "cajun" in the Rif!) and Sgt. Valjean prepared a nice breakfast Sunday morning to see us all on the road. Oh yeah, there waas some Kronenborg and wine consumed as well..... And the Caporal-Chef id show up with some vile Viet brew aka "Tiger beer". More later Renault

There will be pics ( didn't take any, but others did) . I'm sure they will be posted somewhere soon. Now I hope that Martini has the common decency to edit some of the pics from publication!
Yes we had a bit of fun! But all of the woods activity was strictly training!

I was feeling the effects of the training all day yesterday. My legs were stiff and sore all day, but in a good way. Running up and down those hills was a great workout.

Oui! I think this location is excellent. Although it is small for a battle area, per se, it presents very complex challenges!!!!! I think all who participate in this event will be well satisfied by the end of the event!

I think all who participate in this event will be well satisfied by the end of the event! If they are not; I shall just put them on point for the operation. Sgt. Valjean "Counter of Bodies"
