Greetings to all Firstly thanks for letting me access your forum I currently have no unit as not yet initiated my reenacting of this fine unit. I do collect 1:6 figures, concentrating on La Legion, and was looking for more info and help to make em more accurate. I also am contemplating starting a group in the UK. I founded the Vietnm reenacting group "101st Airborne LRRP/Ranger Living History Association" here about 6 years ago, and it grew to be highly respected. I took a step back due to family illness and sold up. Been interested in the FFL for a while and currently researching Indochina War. I look forward to "meeting" you and learning more Chris

Hi Chris,
There are only a few people in the UK that I know of who do Indochina. There is only one group to my knowledge, the FARG. They are, however, mostly focused on French conscript infantry in the Algerian war. You will struggle mightily to put together an Indochina group in the UK. It has already been tried several times without success.
Good luck though.

Chris,
Welcome mes amis!
I'll bump Cookie's comments ... as its almost impossible to build a unit in the UK as it is here, in the U.S. You have to find people interested in the time period! And when you say the word "French" or "France" people tend to freak out.

Nothing like putting someone off before they try eh? Lol To be honest, I was told same when I started out doing Nam LRRPs. Took me a good year of attending the big shows on my own, creating and advertising my website and befriending the veterans but built it from nothing to 12 strong, all active members. Now it's a major player in the circuit thanks to those members helping me visualise my dream. But seeing as you guys have probably been doing this a while, I will take note of your words! It's only an idea I'm toting with, as with 1:6 models I don't get any of the politics that come with reenactment, or backbiting. I may just put an impression for myself together and attend shows when I feel like it. I look forward to researching on here. I've already found some really useful information and answers to questions I had.

There are a small number of us who work together annually to put together photoshoots. We have done two so far, Dien Bien Phu (op. 'Castor' Nov 1953) and The escape from Tu Le by the 6e BPC (Nov 1952). Our next outing is to represent either the 3e BPVN at Ban Hine Siu (Jan 1954) or the 1er BEP on a jungle sweep at Dien Bien Phu (Jan 1954). We're mostly likely to put together the BEP 'shoot as we have the gear and access to one south east asian guy already. If you have the requisite gear and present the right appearance you are more than welcome to join us. This is, however, just a get-together and not an organised group as such.
