Anyone know if these were used during the war? I am working on weapons info for the website and want to see if anyone has pics of an M-2 being used.
Thanks.

Never found any proofs for M2. All pics are showing M1 with bajonet lug.
But it is very hard zu identify the fire selector of a M2 on pics.
So for me: It it possible, but not yet confirmed.

savoy6,
Let me know if you find a source for airsoft M1 Carbines (marushin or otherwise). They can be used for displays to great effect.
Thanks.

savoy6,
Thanks for the info. I watched the reviews on youtube. Never knew just "what" airsoft was, but now I get the drift. The gun looks close to an M1/M2 wonder if there are small details that are correct or incorrect for French Indochina War.
BTW, what impression are you doing? Interested in?

yeah airsoft is kinda like doing nothing but tacticals, but with plastic BBs instead of blanks...but you still hear "call your hits M&^%*&F*&^%$#$!"....lol... as for a look...uhhhh..something like these guys... i also really like the "basic infantry" look that was posted by Cookie here as well.. frenchindochinawar.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=reenactingphotos&action=display&thread=230we were terming ourselves as "18e GCCP" i would think that a GCCP would be an offshoot of a larger unit like a BCCP.....though i'm not sure since i have seen the acronym in several reference works , there isn't a whole lot of info readily availiable on these units...much like the GMAC units....i just wanted us to use a smaller unit designation....in airsoft it seems that any team of more than 3 people is suddenly a "company" or "regiment"... with a colonel,2 majors, and a private..(i.e. the newest guy on the team..lol) plus for airsoft i wanted to NOT use an actual unit that had existed....for the same reason that we use a FUSAG unit, the 18 ABN ,as the parent unit for our WW2 airsoft impression ,I&R PLT,HQ Co.,18th ABN Reg Combat Team....a PTO style army ABN outfit....i just think that doing real units in the context of a game is ....somewhat dis-respectful....especially given how many rangerSEALsdeltaSFforcerecon type teams already exist in airsoft..... right now i'm trying concentrate on getting some M43 or Mle 47 pants and the CDBs....we have enough of US and UK equipment to go around to mix and match...right now we are using the ridge scorpion OD copies of the paladium boots....can't justify $70 a pair to the wife for shoes....lol..the khaki cheches we can make.....we made some OD colored ones that worked really well at the vietnam game we went to several months ago......though i know its the wrong color.....got them wet and put them on under our HBT shirts and we were cool all day....we couldn't visibly mix OD and Khaki because that was one of the NVA/VC uniform colors...the same reason i was asking about the OD colored CDBs in a prior post....

Thanks for posting that first pic ... I had never seen it before. For some reason I cant seem to get into the ECPAD.FR site . . .
When putting together a French Indochina War unit, there is much to choose from. I've done both infantry and airborne, and although I have a sizeable airborne impression (both colonial and legion) I have chosen to return to a Legion infantry impression as I have not seen a proper one done in my neck of the woods. I felt the necessity to build a Legion infantry unit for the field but to have a secondary airborne impression open to those who wished to do that as well.
Since we are also recruiting Vietnamese-Americans into our unit we have a tertiery impression --- 2e compagnie, 3e Bataillon T'ai (II/3e BT) --- who will be joining us in the field and for various events. And we also have a 2-man 3e BCCP impression who will be coming out.
Our impression(s) cross the gamut from Legion to Colonial, infantry to airborne.
If you have not seen Cookie's Dien Bien Phu photo shoot, go into the reenactment photo's here and take a gander.
