Thanks Hoover, like I say, these are from the 2nd unit. Our main photographer, with the hi tech camera etc has 4,000 images to sort through and to jazz up on photoshop, so watch this space.

Cheers Mick,
I believe Jeff is of Philippines origin. Good enough for us. He is a professional model/actor. We'll definitely use him again next year.
Just goes to show what you can achieve with a handful of guys and a bit of dedication.

Cookie,
Whats the large grass in the middle photos?
It seems similar to the Johnson grass here in the Southern U.S. and vaguely similar to small bamboo....

It's some kind of reed that grows on the edges of water in this country. Bullrushes?

Whats the white object on the helmet?
How did you make it?

It's a home made 'Pansement Adhesive' first aid dressing. I saw in lots of the photos of the 6e BPC at Tu Le that they had some kind of white first aid packet stuck in their helmet bands. The closest I could find was the 'Pansement Adhesive' which is from the TAP first aid packet. I made them by cutting six pieces of cardboard into a rough rectangle, sticking them back to back. I then cut of the tips of the corners to give it a rounded profile. I then covered it in white paper and stuck on a printed label I made up on the computer from photos in a book. I then wrapped off-white coloured grease proof cooking paper over the whole thing, with the printed label showing up through it quite well. For the finishing touch I threw the packets into the fireplace in the living room and got them all dusty and grimy with the left over ash. I don't know how accurate they were as none of the photos of the 6e BPC at Tu Le are close enough in to actually see what bandage is being worn, but I think the result was pretty good to be seen in the photos.

Very good. That are some of the best pics I have seen of FICW-reenactment. very good looking, very good colours, very good landscape. And all the MAT49... If I had to choose, that is my favorite.

Thanks Hoover,
I was really annoyed with this photo afterwards as Ian had unscrewed the flash excluder from the end of the FM24/29!

Wow,
Just saw these you put up.
My fav is the one catching the squad on the ridgeline (with you walking with the pole / stick). Very FICW.

Mick,
Jeff is a professional actor/model, so he is a 'gun for hire' unfortunately.
My friend Skot and I are currently working on several small scale Algerian War scenarios to photograph so watch this space.

Were going to be recruiting heavily in the Vietnamese part of Houston, but very selective on who comes in. Our last group was a great bunch of young men who took the impression seriously. As Legion it will be great to put an indochinoise section together. We've gotten bites from several Chinese, an older Thai gentleman and a Japanese WWII reenactor from Dallas.

I am bumping this thread since there are a number of new forum members who may not have seen Cookie's Tu Le photo shoot. As a 30-year reenactor, these are, by far, in my opinion, the best recreation of a battle scene I've seen.
