Talks are now underway with various members of the Vietnamese community in Houston, Texas for the future establishment of a Vietnam War Museum in the city. We are currently establishing a business plan for presentation to a local business group for the use of land within "Little Saigon" for the museum. The museum would house a wing devoted exclusively to the French Indochina War (1946-54) housing uniforms, weapons and equipment.

Danny, we have an uphill battle to fight once the word "French" is uttered. There is a significant distaste in the U.S. toward everything (and anything) French. The key is to explain the background of the FIC War, the significance of the fall of China (1949), the impending disaster on RC4 (1950) and the subsequent battles leading up to Dien Bien Phu. We also hope to destroy the near Godlike status that Giap holds in this country; a Marine Colonel once told me that Giap is literally worshipped at most of the U.S. military academies, tauted as "Napoleon like" like most American academics (both left leaning) with Ho not far behind. We also hope to make an issue of not only the deaths of French prisoners but also the slaughter of the northern tribes by the Communists (1955-65) after the Communist victory.
