Has anyone ever seen photographs of French Colonial or Legion troops in Indochina using the 1943 US Army Mountain rucksack with the tubular frame? From what I can tell they were used by some Special Forces US personnel in Vietnam along with the later 1952 version. Ive scoured all my sources and have seen no photographs of the use of this pack, but there may be some out there.

not the jungle pack. I know of that one. I have a model 43 tubular frame Mountain Ruck...looks sort of like the legion rucks but has an additional external curved tubular frame.

M-43 mountain ruck was not used. First was the french ruck "Begam with tubular frame-model alreday issued during the 30's to the french mountain troops.After the frame turned to metal flat one like on the ARVN ruck...
