Im curious.
Ive been reading a bit about the joint ops in Indochine between colonial and Legion forces and am a bit confused as to the command structure between the forces on these operations.
Would it depend on whose operation it was as to which force was overall command of the operation or were they usually joint command with each having their own responsibilities. Not being familiar with operation organization in the military i only have a modest grasp of how this works. Things of interest are communication, chain of command etc. Any input from folks Legion or Colonial would be of interest and help me to frame these operations in my mind and understand them a bit better.

Operations were joint affairs with foot, river, air and artillery assets used in conjunction with the operation's specific objective (river elements used if the land objective was near a local waterway that could hold sizeable dinnausant group).
The Route coloniale 4 battles are a unique operation in that both Legion and Coloniale Para elements along with Coloniale infantry (the Moroccan units taking part) all took part in the actual battle.
