This past weekend, I took a short trip to Houston's Memorial Park bike trail, aptly named "The Ho Chi Minh Trail." I did the six mile circuit (yellow trail) while dodging mountain bikers and found some great land to train on (rucksacks only) and for photo shoots; there's 50-60 foot drop offs, wooden foot bridges, wash-outs, creeks (dried and wet), small rest area's ... with nearly 20 miles of non-stop trails in the area. As I mentioned to the Sergent-chef this is an opportunity for a medical photoshoot (sans firearms) with uniform, equipment, litters, etc. In places the canopy shields out the sun ... and when you stop for a rest on the trail, you can hear the birds (mainly grackles and crows) and occassionally see a snake a two. It has "retreat from Tu-Le" written all over it! It's truly an incredible place in the middle of metropolitan Houston. I will be uploading pics this weekend ... as I am going out with my bushat, Mle 50 rucksack, US boots and shorts for a quick photo shoot with a Vietnam war veteran. walkers.meetup.com/440/calendar/10490729/
