Just ordered a US Army M43 camouflage jacket from At the Front for 65.00 USD / 75.00 USD total with tax. Interested to see what the difference is between ATF and WWII impression's version. The BCCP impression is slowly emerging [ through fits and starts ] ...

Mick The ones I wore at Brownwood...pants and trousers are from ATF and fit well, seem good quality and faded only a little with the first washing. Ive washed them twice now and they have a good fade...not too much.....quality so far seems go be good.

Doc,
Muchas gras. I know from having owned a pair of WWII Impression camou's that those came pre-faded. I am told a very cold wash will add to the fade...true? ATF says the gas flap is not added [ which is sad, I would have cut it out and used it for something ].

yeah, i wish the gas flap was in there also....its in the coat but not the pants...no need to chafe the goods you know. Also, although both sides have the different color camo./..brown inside green outside...the items are not....NOT....reversible. I only wash them in cold and they do seem to fade slightly each time.....much as I do after a cold washing.

;D I made a judgment call to throw authenticity out the window after a bit of personal experience. The d**ned gas flap is the most hateful and annoying piece of crap ever stuffed into a pair of pants. It's only purpose appears to guarantee that you will piss on your leg. If the lack of a wad of fabric that feels like a loaded diaper rubbing your giblets precludes you from having a successful "time warp" experience...sorry.-At the Front www.atthefront.com ;D

No experience with the ATF M43s and going slightly off topic, but the Spearhead jacket is very good indeed - much better than I expected. No gas flap though.

I agree with David, having seen his Barry Lyndon jacket at the recent photoshoot I can say that for £35 it was very good quality - especially for that price when it is going to get washed out, faded and dirty in the 'jungle'.
another slightly off topic piece: wwiiimpressions are selling Cuban exile Brigade 2506 'Bay of Pigs' invasion duck hunter camo uniforms. Of note is the camo baseball cap - the same pattern was worn by men of the 8e GCM (later 8e BPC) in Indochine - they wore it in both duck hunter and Brit windproof!!

Just got my ATF camou jacket in ... its a beaut, but needs the obligatory cold wash to tampen down the colors. I will be taking to the park this weekend to roll around in the dirt and take out the shine.

Check out EOTAC.Com. They are now selling a new version of the 47/53 French para jacket in either olive drab or the lizard camo pattern. Looks correct to be as far as I could see except for the beaver tail.

Actually it is a copy of the 47/56 pattern with an added shoulder pocket....

What a shame it isn't the 47/53 or 54. That would have been worth a purchase.
