As a reenactor and grad student with work experience in the library field, I research a lot of strange things. I decided to post up a link to "Worldcat", a database of books in libraries around the world. This should go to "regimental histories" (in library cataloging this means any kind of unit history, no matter the size). When you click on a book you should be able to bring up a list of libraries that have it, starting with the closest to you. If your library can provide interlibrary loan they may be able to have it sent from another library, but this doesn't always happen as some of these books are incredibly rare or far away. A few books from the Second Indochina war may have creeped into the mix, but you get the idea. I've found some really good French Language photographic histories on there as well. www.worldcat.org/search?qt=worldcat_org_all&q=Indochina+War+Regimental+histories

woodard,
Great job.
I just clicked into that URL [ guys, you must paste the entire URL to get to the locale ] and sure enough its a gold mine of FICW information, specifically, as you said, unit histories, locations of the libraries they are at, etc.
Thanks for sharing the link with us.

If they don't have it anywhere near then at least you have a title and author to look for on the used book market. Good hunting everyone.
