Bonjour mes amis!
I'm currently reading a book by Simon Berthon titled,
Allies At War, The Bitter Rivalry among Churchill, Roosevelt, and De Gaulle. EXCELLENT READ!!!!!!!
While not necessarily a book that falls into our era, it definitely is a subject directly related to post-war feelings and attitudes. Especially affecting the international opinions and climate during the First Indochina War. All three of these nations were to be directly involved diplomatically, if not militarily in the conflict.
I feel this is one of those texts that should be required reading for any WWII historian and reenactor. So little is known of the politics, intrigue, and behind the scenes activities by members of our hobby. Many have their reasons to dislike one of these three world leaders, but when asked a reason why, an intellegent answer is most often a rarity.

Actually, This book is the culmination of a BBC series that was shown over here on PBS. I remember seeing the very end of it several years ago. The author was the writer for the series. He was prodded into writing this book as a result of the sucess of the series. Si in reality there probably is a DVD available at your local bookstore or even Amazon. I haven't looked.... Renault
