Bonjour Grog:
You can get Dien Bien Phu on a US region DVD from Belle and Blade (www.warshows.com). It is in French and NO subtitles. They also have Le317 with English Subtitles.
Put them on your Christmas List.

Thanks very much! I have no problem with no subtitles. Even if I can only understand one word in ten it will be worth it

Can't seem to find Dien Bien Phu, just a couple of documentaries about the battle. Is it possibly under another title?

It's a real masterpiece! The first time I saw it I was like 19yo. Then I thought why is there so few action and these boring parts with Donald Pleasance? But when I saw it several years later with more knowledge of the overall situation back then I really enjoyed the movie! We also considered to play the main theme of the movie as infinite loop on our last event! ;D Regards, Turner

Bonsoir Grog:
Just email Steve at Belle and Blade and let him know you want the movie Dien Bien Phu. He will get you a copy. He is very customer friendly and prides himself on getting any War flick out there. He may only have a few copies on hand and perhaps that's why it's not in the catalog. I just purchased a copy from him in June.

Any luck at Belle and Blade? if not, I found I had an old copy on VHS that I might be able to put on a DVD for you. I recently acquired a DVD Recorder/VCR combo, and would be willing to try to copy it. I have never done that before, so no guarantees. Let me know.

Legionaire I only just checked this thread again today and saw your post from Dec 2nd. If you can make a copy that would be great. I'd gladly pay for postage and the disk. If you can't make it work I'll e-mail Steve and see about getting a copy.

Just watched my copy from Belle & Blade. It had English subtitles.
But I was amazed at the typos and broken English. Definitely not done by a fluent English speaker.
But it didn't detract from the film at all! I really enjoyed it!
