The OD ones appeared in North Africa about 1954. In time for the war there, but they were not shipped to SE Asia. Surplus was shipped to Israel in the early '60's. I can't remember exactly when. Certainly in time for the Six Day War, which is why one sees Israeli paras wearing TAP uniforms at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
It's cool to see that many good impressions together in one place.
How did one of your crew get MAT 49?!

Got rid of it a long time ago wish I kept it.

Steve, were going to be uploading authenticity standards this coming week. The authenticity officer for the DBP event will be convening a quick meeting in Houston to gather up all the various impression data and squeeze it into one product. Well have that out to everyone this coming week.
Were also getting more feedback from interested parties who want to come out and do Viet Mihn. Lets the spread the word: we need more Indians! :-)
Cheers, Mick

Thanks to you and the others involved for all the work so far.

Unfortunately, no... I live in Washington state, a little far away for a cross country trip in two weeks. :-)

Ok, gents, headcount thus far is:
32 confirmed 5 invited 8 undecided
This is off our Facebook group. I have added in three who are not on Facebook who have confirmed participation.
Authenticity Regs were just posted.
Lew ---- again my thanks to you and Craig for keeping this page going whilst the rest of us were languishing in a Viet Minh prison camp ;-) The success of getting this event off the ground is directly related to both of you and the mes amis here who have kept this unique era going!
Cheers, Mick

Or too dimwitted to know when to let it go. I only do it for my personal edification. Happy to help. Thank you for doing your part, Mick. I look forward to meeting you.
